(RANCHO CORDOVA, CA) – February 28, 2020 Tri Tool Incorporated today announces with great sadness the passing of Dr. George J. Wernette on February 23, 2020, at the age of 94.
Dr. Wernette, one of the founders of Tri Tool in 1972, was a dynamic driving force behind the company’s growth and success. “All of our company management and employees send our sincere condolences to the Wernette family in their time of loss,” said Todd Fox, Tri Tool’s Vice President of Global Sales.
An accomplished man, Dr. Wernette was a Korean War veteran, having served in Japan as a Navy flight surgeon. After many years of private practice he supported a start-up machine tool company introducing innovative portable tube and pipe machining equipment. Dr. Wernette served as corporate president for Tri Tool’s first four decades, a period that witnessed the small company flourishing from a specialty tool maker, to a leading world-wide provider of industrial machine tools, pipeline equipment, custom equipment engineering, and on-site contract services. An avid sportsman, Dr. Wernette was a man of incredible faith, patriotism, and always showed infinite love for his family, and his devoted employees.
Tri Tool will continue to be skillfully managed through the experienced leadership of George J. Wernette III who has been Tri Tool’s Chairman of the Board and CEO since January 5th, 2016.
