Tri Tool Training
Our training program was developed to provide a thorough education in Tri Tool machine tools and welding equipment as well as industry best practices for safe field operation and maintenance. Our qualified, highly skilled instructors have real world machining and welding experience in the field and shop settings. Most have been directly involved in the design and field testing of all our products and will be able to offer unique insight in their use.
We offer standard or customized training to suit your needs, at one of our facilities or at yours.

Tri Tool Certified Instructors
Our professional instructors have over 100 years of field machining and welding between them. So take a minute and meet your trainers.
If you’ve ever visited our website or seen our brochures, you might recognize Hollis. He’s been working on projects, training or demonstrating product in videos since 2005 with Tri Tool. He has a vast experience running the equipment either in the field or in a shop environment and knows how to assess his students for optimum learning. He has trained so many people over the years on machining and machining techniques that he’s lost count, but let’s say he’s trained more than a few, and some of them are now highly seasoned machinists with Tri Tool. A car enthusiast, Hollis enjoys building race engines and going to car shows with his free time.
As Tri Tool’s resident welding demonstration specialist at most tradeshows and customer sites, Jimmy has been with Tri Tool since 2012. As Jimmy states, welding is a dynamic field that changes as advancements in technology occur, “it takes patience to teach welding with the different learning styles you encounter”. Able to “adapt” to most situations, Jimmy can come up with viable solutions to get the job expertly completed. As a multiple SkillsUSA Regional Champion, he’s excited to be working on Tri Tool’s AdaptARC multi-process orbital welding system and teaching customers its full potential. After hours, Jimmy enjoys being with his young daughter, taking her to the park and pond to feed the ducks and fabricating projects in his garage.
With Tri Tool since 2006, Mike is best known for his ready smile and willingness to help wherever that might take him on jobs around the world. He has worked on numerous specialty projects that have led him to a career of constant learning. He feels that there isn’t any situation that could not be resolved without “using good communication”. Mike has taken supervisor courses by quite a few of our customers and has been certified as an instructor and supervisor. When he’s not traveling for work, he spends all his free time with his family and enjoying being outdoors.
Rusty, a self-proclaimed “people person” is a field machinist who learned the tricks of the trade from the closely knitted community of machinists back in the “early days”. Since 1994 Rusty has been a field machinist and is currently a General Field Superintendent with Tri Tool. He likes to train people with the understanding that they will develop their own way of machining that is comfortable and works best for them. When Rusty isn’t working or hunting in the great outdoors in South Carolina, he is in the backyard grilling and loving his family get-togethers at his home.
