New York Power Authority (NYPA), one of the country’s largest state public power organizations, generates over 1,160 megawatts of electricity at its Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped-Storage Hydroelectric Power Plant. As frequent peak demands continue to increase, the plant’s 50” metal shaft sleeve had premature wear that needed to be repaired; however, the shaft’s subterranean location complicated the repair due to the tight confines. Discover how Tri Tool customized the 655SB clamshell lathe, an OD turning tool module, and the AdaptARC® mechanized welding system, to repair four shaft sleeves without having to remove the entire 55-ton shaft, helping NYPA avoid extended outages and incur substantial cost savings.
Our staff and engineers are on the ready. Let Tri Tool get to work.
